Need a Marketing Specialist? Look no further.
I'm Habib, but you can call me Beeb. My digital marketing journey began in 2013 when I started using social media to market and advertise my professional hairstylist side business. Recently, I earned my Google Digital Marketing and E-Commerce Professional Certificate, further solidifying my expertise in this field.
For the past 4 years, I have been marketing "Something Black Made" (SBM), a brand I founded in November 2020. Through SBM, I have been telling my story, researching social trends and platform algorithms, and giving back to my community. This experience has gained my skills in digital marketing, SEO, content creation, analytics and data interpretation, email marketing, paid advertising, social media strategy, community management, project management, and brand development. Additionally, I am proficient in filming and editing, Adobe product design, and producing relevant, engaging content across various social media platforms.
Let’s connect and see how I can bring my expertise to your projects.
I create to drive originality,
and I market to drive positive change.
I love to create. My passion for creating was cultivated at an early age when my mother bought me my first pair of hair clippers to cut my own hair because she couldn't afford to pay for my haircuts, which were very important to me as a teenager. My friends and others at my high school quickly recognized my talent for creating intricate designs in my haircuts. Yes, designs were a thing back when I was in high school in the early 2000s. Plus, I needed all the cool points I could get because I was tired of being known as "the black guy with the weird accent." I saw this newfound talent as an opportunity to be known as "the cool black dude that cuts hair and always has a clean shape-up." Sadly, I became known as "the guy who gave free cuts to my friends in the bathroom during lunch." It was totally not what I was shooting for, but I was able to later turn that passion into a successful hairstyling business.
I believe that cutting hair enhances my creativity because everyone who sits in a barber's chair requires a different hairstyle. To differentiate myself in a crowded barbering industry, I created unique hair designs that my clients adore, making them feel good and helping them stand out. I love being able to use my creativity to invoke positive emotions in others, and that's the same approach I take when it comes to marketing.
To become a great marketer, you have to be curious. Curiosity drives you to explore new ideas, understand different perspectives, and stay ahead of trends. This curiosity fuels creativity, enabling innovative solutions and compelling content that captivate audiences. By combining my love for creating with an insatiable curiosity, I strive to produce marketing that not only stands out but also resonates deeply with people.
